Juvederm Vollure is a hyaluronic acid facial filler. It has specifically been designed to address the issue of nasolabial folds and also the parentheses around the mouth. This filler is the longest-lasting dermal filler aimed at the mid-face. The results tend to last for almost two years. 

The older filler, known simply as Juvederm, was used to treat mid-face sections. However, the new Vollure version with Vycross Technology allows the injector to actually contour the targeted area and deliver more permanent results. 

How It Works

As stated above, the key ingredient here is HA or Hyaluronic Acid, which is a naturally occurring substance. It is a hydrating agent that’s produced in the skin. HA production tends to drop as the human body ages, which leads to the dermal layers becoming saggy or lose. There tends to be a loss in structure and volume. Low cohesiveness is also observed during this phase. 

Hyaluronic acid fillers are quite the hit these days and are the preferred treatment option for wrinkles. A majority of clinical trials with HA have been successful. 

As is the case with most other dermal fillers, Juvederm Vollure needs to be injected purely by a professional. Your doctor will determine how much filler needs to be injected after assessing your features. Once that is determined, a series of facial injections will be delivered to the targeted areas. 

Are You a Good Candidate for Juvederm Vollure?

In general, most adults are good candidates for Juvederm Vollure. However, there are certain exceptions. For instance, people with allergies or a history of anaphylaxis will not be eligible for the procedure. 

Similarly, anyone with a case of multiple severe allergies will not be treated with this dermal filler. This includes people with a history of allergies associated with gram-positive bacterial proteins or lidocaine. 

Typical Target Areas for Juvederm Vollure

Juvederm Vollure is commonly used to treat nasolabial folds, which are also known as laugh lines or smile lines. However, the filler is not recommended for use under the eyes, lips, or cheeks. The Vollure injectable gel allows doctors to leverage both touch-up injection techniques and initial injection techniques to smoothen out facial folds. 

The versatility is a result of Vycross technology, which makes use of the various molecular weights of hyaluronic acid to deliver an ultra-smooth gel-like substance that also lasts long. 

Treatment Duration

The treatment itself does not take very long. However, the duration can vary based on the number of treatment areas to be targeted. Typically, it can last from 15 minutes to an hour. However, if your doctor applies a topical numbing cream, that can add another 20 to 45 minutes. 

The good news is that it is carried out in a single session. The results will last for a couple of years. But as time passes, the filler will break down and get absorbed. This means that a touch-up or repeat sessions will be needed later on.
